Our Commitment: PawLedger is built with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Summary

PawLedger is a local-first application. We collect nothing. Your pet data stays on your device unless you choose to export it yourself.

Data Collection

PawLedger does not:

  • Create user accounts
  • Collect personal information
  • Track your usage or behaviour
  • Use analytics SDKs
  • Send data to external servers
  • Share data with third parties

Local Storage Only

All data you enter in PawLedger - pet profiles, health records, medications, photos, and notes - is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device database technology.

  • No cloud sync: Data never leaves your device automatically
  • No server-side backup: We have no servers storing your data
  • No remote access: We cannot see or access your information

Your data only leaves your device when you explicitly export it yourself (e.g., PDF reports you choose to share).

Permissions

Notifications

PawLedger requests notification permission to send you local reminders for:

  • Medication schedules
  • Vaccination due dates
  • Vet appointments
  • Feeding times

These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification data is sent externally.

Camera and Photo Library

PawLedger requests camera and photo library access to:

  • Add photos to pet profiles
  • Attach images to health records and memories

All photos remain stored locally on your device. We do not upload, process, or access your photos on any server.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

Premium users may optionally enable iCloud sync:

  • Sync is user-initiated and can be disabled at any time
  • Data is synced directly to your personal iCloud account
  • PawLedger does not have access to your iCloud data
  • Apple's iCloud security and privacy policies apply to synced data

In-App Purchases

PawLedger offers optional in-app purchases processed through Apple's App Store:

  • Payment is handled entirely by Apple
  • We do not receive or store your payment information
  • Apple's privacy policy governs payment processing

Analytics and Tracking

PawLedger uses no third-party services except Apple StoreKit for processing in-app purchases. We use no:

  • Analytics platforms
  • Advertising networks
  • Crash reporting services
  • Social media integrations
  • User behaviour tracking

Children's Privacy

PawLedger does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and never transmitted, the app is safe for users of all ages.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • To delete all data: Simply delete the app from your device. All associated data will be permanently removed.
  • To delete specific records: You can delete individual entries within the app at any time.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have rights regarding your personal data. Because PawLedger collects no personal data, stores everything locally, and has no user accounts or cloud storage - you already have complete control. Your data exists only on your device, and you can delete it at any time.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version within the app and on this page, and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates.
